*i think* the early christians "did" take on the roman government- when chitianity was outlawed, the apostles still preached, worshippers still worshipped -some at the cost of their lives. it was through the struggles of those before us that we, in america gained the freedom to worship- from the people who stood up and said "i will not be moved" even though their very lives were on the line.

i guess it's all in the way an individual sees it. i just see it as the apostles DID go up against the roman government by not being silenced by fear. they were willing to preach the gosple and and say what was right no matter if it cost them their lives,,,,, what brave men they were.
