full semesters and doing a really good job (and having her take classes that address the issues you see), THEN I'd give her some money to travel.

I think travel is a great thing (obviously, considering how much we do it!) and definitely an education in and of itself. I also don't think it's required for every person to go to college. But I do think it would be good for her to at least get a little bit of college. Maybe the promise of a trip will motivate her.
