Here you have to have 3 math credits, two of which have to be Algebra 1 and Geometry, so it is not uncommon for kids who are not mathematically minded to take 9th grade Pre-Algebra, 10th grade Alg1 and Geometry in 11th.
Our state also lets you get high school credit for high school math taken in 8th grade - math and foreign language courses are the only courses you can get high school credit for. Any other classes taken in Jr High (even if they would normally be considered high school level) do not earn high school credit here.
So I'd count the Alg 1/2 for high school credit, the Algebra 1 for high school credit, but not the Art program.
