Yes, college kids use computers but schools still use blue books so if he needs the computer, you will probably need that to be part of his accommodations and have been recommended by the tester.
The reason I suggested going on the school's website is because the number of years varies-- within 1, 2 or 3 is what they usually want.
Lots of schools have math help for everyone but the math classes can still be a stumbling block for kids who struggle with math so I would consider having someone on standby who can help him if he should need it (whether that's you, your dh, a friend who is good at math).
