Bunny, we used Apologia Physical Science. You could get a used copy and go through that and see what you want to cover from it. There is an audio mp3 available of the book. If you're busy this summer, that may be a way to get more of the book than you actually test your dc on, kwim? (This is not to be confused w/ the multi-media cd-rom or the entire book that comes on a cd-rom. It's just the text read aloud.)
Ask Elaine about alternate tests for Apologia. I have a love-hate relationship w/ them and Birgit saved my dd. I almost lost her, and not just w/ science or homeschooling, over Apolgia Biology, but that's another story.
