they took their placement testing and did well enough to get into any class they wanted- the problem was - because they were dual enrolled- they didnt have priority enrollment which meant the classes they wanted were often full before they could sign up or the open classes were at an inconvieniant time.
it was actually good for them to see the the world was not going to bend to accommidate them.
for instance, ds #4 wanted to take calc 1 and chem 1 his first semester at the cc BUT he ended up taking Am history and eng111 because what he wanted had filled up.
but what he is doing sounds like enough to me.
