Patticom We're doing History of US for middle school (6th-7th)... the problem with it is

There is no workbook, no questions built in, no assignments of any kind except what you make for it... so it would be much more teacher intense. They are good books, but imho for High School you want them working as independently as possible, gearing them toward the future and adult responsibility.

For middle school, we are just doing them as read-alouds. As I read I occasionally ask questions or "rabbit trail" off into discussions, but I didn't take time to write out quizzes and etc. because for this level I feel like just letting the history wash over them is enough. :) I believe we did book 1 in 5th (I forget now)... ended 6th grade with Book 7, and we'll finish 8-10 next year in 8th, and will get a shorter program to finish up the year.
