because I couldn't really quite figure out how it was supposed to work, either. He sent me some suggestions.
I think if you use it consistently and really require your students to do it right and to expend some mental energy on it, you could accomplish what the program claims.
But even if you don't actually memorize everything, I think it has value in terms of helping a person understand how mapping works, where countries/continents are in relation to each other, and stuff like that. I drew some of the maps along with ds, and I enjoyed it a lot (and much more than he did!!)
In fact, I enjoyed it so much that when we went to Ireland, in my notebook I drew a map of Ireland and marked it with the places we visited. I did the same for the Netherlands in April. Very fun.
